Substitute Teacher Tip of the Day - Parking...

When deciding where to park your car in the school lot, do not park any closer than two spaces from any light pole.

Seagulls start congregating on the light poles about an hour before lunch knowing that kids will be out soon, leaving dropped snacks for them when class resumes.

In the meantime, they are dumping on the four nearest cars below their favorite school lot roost.

When I sub I almost always park on the street (ok, I always do unless it's freezing out and I need a parking spot with an outlet so that I can plug in my car). I find that school parking lots often get congested with parents picking up their children at the end of the day and I just end up sitting in my car waiting to back out of my spot for 20 or so minutes.

I must confess that when I park on the street under a tree I do occasionally come out at the end of the day to a few surprises waiting for me on my car though :o(
