BEN LOMOND -- A 52-year-old woman was arrested early this morning near the Ben Lomond Conservation Camp on Empire Grade Road after authorities said they saw her dump two bags full of meth, marijuana and other items outside the minimum security facility for inmates to retrieve, the CHP reported.

Rhoda Lea Dydo Nunley, of Wheatland, was arrested about 2:50 a.m. after officers said she dropped two large bags near the facility's entrance, said CHP officer Sarah Jackson. Officers said they watched two inmates try to pick up the bags, and one of the intended recipients was Nunley's adult son, the CHP said.

The bags contained meth, marijuana, tobacco, food, a cell phone and other items, authorities said. Nunley was with another son, who is a minor, and the boy was taken into protective custody following Nunley's arrest, the CHP said.

A couple can't agree on which gang their 4-year-old toddler should join

"...A fight about the decision led to a public disturbance with the father's arrest. Joseph Manzanares went to the video store where his girlfriend worked, threatened to kill her and knocked over several video displays, police told KMGH Denver.

Police arrested Manzanares at his home, Commerce City police Sgt. Joe Sandoval told KMGH Denver.

The girlfriend told authorities they were fighting over which gang their son should join. The girlfriend, who is black, is a member of the Crips while Manzanares, who is Hispanic, belongs to the Westside Ballers.

"They have different ideas on how the baby should be raised," Sandoval said. "Basically, she said they cannot agree on which gang the baby would 'claim.'"

Mom Drives Son to Gang Fight at H.S.
"VICTORVILLE, Calif. - A mother was arrested after she allegedly drove her son to a school to fight with members of a rival gang. Sophia Elam, 41, drove her 16-year-old son and several adults to Silverado High School to fight with gang members who had been threatening her son in an ongoing dispute

...She was arrested at her county government job [emphasis added] at the same time the search warrant was served at her home in the 13600 block of Sylvan Oaks Street, officials said.

...As a dozen teenagers were being searched and detained by authorities at a local home Thursday afternoon, one of them pleaded, “Can’t I just call my mom?”

To which a Victorville detective replied, “No, your mom is already in jail.”
