Thomas Andrew (Tom) Lehrer (born April 9, 1928) is an American singer-songwriter, satirist, pianist, and mathematician. The guy lip syncing this bit isn't but adds visual comedic value.
FYI: Math base "8" was (is?) used in computer programming in the old days (1980's) when computers were programmed in binary, octal and hexadecimal assembly language.
