Brain Twister

(From the same 5th grade test...)

This is the other question I missed on the test. Actually, I gave up because we ran out of time. You have 10 minutes. GO!!

    I think it would be 63 cents. I added up the what each of the kids still needed, then I thought I should add one, but one when I double checked my work the kids had enough money to buy the comb so I checked for 64 cents and they just had enough money to buy the comb so I subtracted one more cent and that seems to be the most the comb could cost.

  4. 63 cents. If Angela's money can't help Doreen to buy the comb, she can have only 5 cents at most. So the comb can cost only 5 + 58 = 63 cents at most.
