So I called the number and go "Invalid" No one told me this would happen. They just did it. I had worked through Kings County Office of Education. I had no idea there was a do not call list, I just thought they removed me from the list. I took action and notified the Credential Analyst. She said she would check into it. Several days later they explained to me that I have removed from the list because school districts had filed complaints against me. I have more against them. A couple of the charges against me didn't even happen. It was my local school district and I can tell you that I had purposefully set me up to fail. They assign me hard classes, twice the teacher failed to provide a lesson plan and yet I was accused of not following it! (One time, the teacher helper whomever she was) came and said the teacher had emailed the lesson plan. She took time away from me as she had to open her email on the computer. I had no time to look at the lesson plan. By the time it was ready, class began. Another time, the office failed to tell me it was a rainy day schedule (same school) and so the kids come in because that what they are suppose to do when it rains (It was lunch time). I worked for another school district and they never had a complaint against me. A couple months later they send me a notice saying they have reasonable assurance and want to know if I want to work for them as a sub.Ruthie Madisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10967444799855146815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714058.post-22059164649984236442019-05-24T15:25:43.825-07:002019-05-24T15:25:43.825-07:00Here is the issue, subs are teachers to. Regardles...Here is the issue, subs are teachers to. Regardless of the title we simply endure the same responsibilities as others who have a more permanent title. A sub can do anything to smiling more than they should, being more understanding or simply just known as the cool sub. It doesnt have to be anything negative to get you on the block list. As a personal example it could be just the one day your chose to leave on time, be a second late or simply do what was asked and nothing more. The sad part is we dont have rights but I feel as though as long as you pay state and federal taxes there should be something put into place to buffer the decision so that your voice can be heard to.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714058.post-61892468771808043522019-04-28T13:26:04.652-07:002019-04-28T13:26:04.652-07:00I predict someone will die because parents have th...I predict someone will die because parents have this fad for unusual spellings.

Doctors will be told the hospital has no records for a Michael Robertson and then it will turn out that the fun-loving parents decided to spell his forename "Mykell".Paul Brownseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00764726326208869989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714058.post-29138655777813420612019-04-27T09:03:19.167-07:002019-04-27T09:03:19.167-07:00Nice post. I just stumbled upon this old post. I...It is 2019. I just stumbled upon this old post. I hope some of your discouraged readers have realized by now that there are many alternatives to classroom teaching, especially if they have a masters degree. With a credential, they can teach at virtual (online) schools or adult schools. With no credential and a masters, they could teach at a community college. So many options. And special ed teachers seem to be in higher and higher demand, so it's definitely a route worth investigating. Many public schools use full-time special education aides in the classrooms, either for group support on one-on-one with specific students. Oh my gosh - so many different avenues in the education profession!

I am 49 and I have chosen a career as a substitute teacher. I teach in all grades, TK - 12. I LOVE the variety of the days, the abundance of work, the flexibility, and the ability to leave work at the end of the day without having to lesson plan or attend endless meetings after school (HUGE). No grading papers all weekend either! Yes, you have to be flexible and ready to work when you are called (I get up every morning and get ready just as if I were going in. It is not unusual to be called in at the last minute on days that I am not already scheduled for.) No, you will probably not be eligible for health insurance through your employer. (I purchased individual health insurance through the ACA marketplace. I know this is a big concern for most of us. Trust me - you do not need to be covered through an employer. There are many affordable options out there if your household income is under $100K, although deductibles will be higher in most cases.) Summer schools need substitute teachers and special ed aides as well, just in case you need some summer income. Or consider becoming a camp counselor for a summer camp. If you enjoy working with kids and have a talent for it (not everyone does) - be creative and open minded. There really are so many options out there other than classroom teaching and if you open yourself up to several districts, you will have plenty of work. Find a way, make it work, enjoy your job!knelsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08257105069864693536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714058.post-73289858696369701642018-10-18T17:34:01.949-07:002018-10-18T17:34:01.949-07:00Thanks, Winnie
